How trooQ Works

First off, trooQ is the social marketplace. We give you a place to find what you are looking for, by giving you the ability to leverage your existing social networks to create networks of trusted people to buy and sell with. Not only do we provide you with the level of trust that helps make the purchasing process easier, trooQ is reliable, cost-effective and fun. And, who doesn't like a little fun!

OK, OK, we know; so how does this all work? It is really quite simple. You sign up (which is a really quick process), you discover and connect with your friends and then you start buying and or selling within your trusted network. Sounds easy, right? There is a little more to it, so let us explain. In order for you to find and connect with your friends, we have given you the ability to import your e-mail address book (well for now AOL, g-mail, Yahoo and Hotmail) and find out who in your address book is already on trooQ. A couple of check boxes later and a click of the submit button and you are well on your way to building up your friends list on trooQ.

Once you are signed up and have activated your account, you are ready to start buying or selling. If you want to sell something, simply click on the add an item and in a minute or so, you will have your item listed for the whole world to see. If you want to buy something, simply enter your search terms and hit submit and we will return you everything we have based on that search term. You can quickly scan the results to see which items are listed by friends of yours and you are free to submit an offer on any item you want (it does not have to be from a friend of yours). If the offer is accepted, you are well on your way to being the proud new owner of the item. Once your offer is accepted, it will be up to you and the seller to work out the payment details (sorry about this, but have no fear, in the near future we will provide you the ability to handle the transaction within the site).

One of the other great features of trooQ is the ability for you to create a community. Again, with simplicity in mind, we created a process that is quick and easy, and in a minute or so, you can create a community. Once you have created it, you will now have a place where you can invite users who share the same interests and you all will have a common place to buy and sell your items. Your community page will display the latest items added to your community, show who the members are and it even has a message board for you all to kibitz on.

We recognize that you most likely have a lot of friends out there on the internets and you would like to be able to get your wares in front of as many people as possible. Well, good news, we have a way for you to do just that. On your My Q page you will see a button that says, Get trooQ Widget. If you click on that, you will be taken to a page that has all the code necessary for you to cut and paste onto your blog or your social network the widget. This widget will give users the ability to search your inventory right from your blog or your social network. Not only does it search your inventory, but it searches your friends as well. If you own a community, your community widget will provide search capability for all the items in your community as well as all the items within trooQ. This is all pretty cool stuff and we are sure you will get a lot of use out of it.
